1. Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Defragmenter
   
2. Select your disk to Defrag then Clcik Defragment disk
   
3. Be patient

There are many reasons that causes your computer works slow. I'll try to explain the reasons that usually slows down a computer.

Get a anti-virus to kick'em. Use an updated anti-virus. And never trust the internet.

2. Needless Softwares X

Take your time to clean them.

3. Dusty computer X

Take your time to clean it.

4. DeFrag your disks √

Be patient.

5. Update hardware √

Be patient and update each one.

How to Speed up Windows

1. Press (WINDOWS KEY) + E
   
2. Right-Click any empty place.
    
3. Select Properties.
   
4. Select Advanced system settings on left (XP Users Select Advanced tab) and click Settings button under the "Performance" line.
   
5. Choose "Adjust for the Best Performance"
   
6. Apply & OK

How to Change Windows Start up sound with your own

1. Start > Control Panel
   
2. Find "Sounds and Audio Devices"
   
3. Click the sound you wanted to change, the sounds are available and labeled in the box on the lower half of the Sounds control box.
   
4. Click Browse button in the bottom right corner of the box.
   
5. Choose your own sound.
   
6. Press the play button next to the Browse button to confirm your sound.
   
7. Save the Sound Scheme by clicking Save As and setting a unique name
   
8. Make sure your sound scheme is selected
   
9. Apply & OK
